| 1. | Please make sure your Macintosh computer is switched on and connected to the internet. These instructions assume you are using MacOS X though the principle will be the same to configure Mozilla Thunderbird on other computer systems.
| 2. | You will require the settings sheet which contains the settings that you received from Tech Support when your account was first created.
| 3. | Open the Thunderbird program and select Account Settings from the Tools menu. A settings window will appear which will enable you to enter the settings.
| 4. | Select the Outgoing Server (SMTP) item in the list of settings. If this is the first account, it may be the only item in the list:

| Enter your SMTP server name as "smtp.domain.co.uk" using your own domain name as shown in your settings sheet. Leave the Port as 25 and select the Use name and password setting.
| Enter your eMail username in the box marked User Name and leave the Use Secure Connection button on TLS, if available then press the OK button to save the settings. You are not asked for your eMail password at this stage but keep it handy for when you are prompted for it later.
5. | Again select Account Settings from the Tools menu to access the Settings window and then press the Add Account button. The Thunderbird New Account Setup Wizard will appear:

| Select the Email Account button since we wish to setup an eMail account and press the Next button.
| 6. | In the Identity window, enter your name in the box marked Your Name. This is the name that the recipient of your eMail messages will see in their "Sender" column:

| Similarly, enter your eMail address in the Email Address box as you would like it to appear to the recipient then press the Next button.
7. | The Server Information window will appear. Select POP as the server type and name the Incoming Server as "mail.domain.co.uk" using your own domain name as shown in your settings sheet:

| Ensure that your SMTP server name correctly appears in the text shown at the lower part of the window. If it does not state the "smtp.domain.co.uk" name using the domain name as shown on your settings sheet, press the Back button and check your SMTP settings as shown at the beginning of this document. If everything matches, press the Next button.
| 8. | The User Names window will appear. Enter your eMail username in both of the two boxes marked Incoming User Name and Outgoing User Name:

| You are not asked for your eMail password at this stage but keep it handy for when you are prompted for it later. Press the Next button.
9. | The Account Name window will appear. Enter something that will make it obvious which account has been setup if you plan to have more than one eMail account on the same computer.

| This name will not be visible to recipients because it is an internal identifier only. Press the Next button.
| 10. | The final confirmation window will appear and outline the various settings that have been entered. Press the Back button to correct any errors otherwise press the Finish button to complete the setup:

| 11. | If you are connected to the Internet, an attempt will now be made to check your eMail and you will be prompted to enter your eMail password. You will also have the opportunity to instruct Thunderbird to save that password in your Keychain. Saving the password will remove the need to enter the password manually each time.
12. | You are now ready to send and received your eMail using Thunderbird! Thank you for choosing the ScorpionNet service!
| 13. | In general, you should ensure that you manually delete your old eMail from your eMail software as part of your routine maintenance operations. Overfilling your mail folders can cause the eMail software to fail and you could potentially lose all eMail messages stored inside the mail folders. Important messages should be stored outside of your eMail software and form part of your regular backup process. If you need guidance on backup procedures, please contact Tech Support.
| 14. | For more information about Mozilla Thunderbird software, please contact Mozilla directly via the Internet at www.Mozilla.org for the latest updates.
